I am currently the Lead Nurse in an outpatient infusion center. I assign nurses to patients accordingly and support nursing staff by working as a team. I report biweekly with nursing director on ways of improving our services. We care for patients that have hematology and oncology diagnosises. I also provide coordination of care including scheduling and education and monitoring throughout their treatment. Assessment of the patient throughout including side effect management and notifying provider accordingly. Sending prescriptions via EMR for side effects management or oncology prescriptions. Assisting with authorizations for prescriptions including Celgene/REMS program and . I care for patients throughout infusion including iv starts, phlebotomies, accessing/assessing mediports, administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, iron products, hematology drugs including subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and monitoring throughout. Assessing for infusion reactions and caring for patient throughout. Communicating with team members including practitioners, office manger, medical office assistants, lab tech, pharmacists/techs, and physicians verbally and through apps such as dochalo and Microsoft Teams. Documentation on Onco EMR, use of Epic and Care Everywhere. Ordering of supplies needed and management of equipment and where to send if malfunctioning. Documenting on Safety Zone for untoward events. Use of Workday and Authenticator apps.

Lead nurse for Garden City Hospital Infusion Center/Hematology including management of patients throughout care. Education, scheduling, insurance authorizations on oral and iv medications, symptom management. Working closely with entire team and office staff. Iv insertion, phlebotomies, accessing mediports, blood transfusions, injections, assisting with bone marrow biopsies and educating/monitoring throughout, and drawing labs. Documenting with Epic and paper charts. Transitioning office/patients when The Cancer and Hematology Center bought the hospital infusion center/clinic.

Charge nurse on an inpatient preoperative and postoperative surgical unit including general surgery, orthopedics. Urological surgery, neurosurgery, vascular and obstetrics surgery. I gained many nursing skills such as iv insertion, epidural and pain management, Nerve blocks, pca's, Foley catheters, tube feeding, peg tubes, nasogastric tunes with or without suction, wound vacs, tracheostomy, colostomy bags, wound care, wound vacs, Jason Pratt drains, urostomy and nephrostomy drains, etc. Management and assessment of patients including discharge planning. Taking care of a team of 6-8 patients and being in charge of unit of nurses including patient assignment, admissions and discharges.
