With two other former employees of Wisdom of The Elders, who were also former students of mine we formed M.A.D. Bears. This is a Native American company in the form of a council-run style. We work in urban and forest habitats with a focus on reconnecting natives and habitat restoration. Most work is around the Portland Metro and some other county sites.
I volunteered at many events with Indigenous peoples' market and did a land back event. I gave lessons on honorable harvesting, first foods, and continue to do so as many people are hungry to learn and reconnect with the land.
Worked in collaboration with the Ancient Forest Preserve manager and Forest Park Conservancy's Director. We established a year-long internship for a green jobs team. I created innovative learning models for BIPOC and Indigenous interns. I created nature discovery events for families of underserved communities and bring them out into the Natural settings of Forest Park
