In July of 1997, I started with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Clerk in our county jail. I became a detention deputy in 2000, after successfully completing the corrections academy obtaining my certification. On my own accord, I successfully completed FTO training. I was selected to be an FTO at the jail where I enjoyed training and mentoring new deputies. While assigned to detention, I paid for the Cross-Over Academy. After successfully completing the state examination, I obtained my Law Enforcement certification. During my tenure, I completed nine years of dedicated service, mentoring, training, and inspiring new deputies for success. Due to my strong work ethic, I was selected to be an acting supervisor in the booking area selected to me numerous times.
On June 1, 2006, I transferred to the Courthouse Security Unit. I have worked in every position in this unit, not limited to but including misdemeanor, felony, family, civil, juvenile and traffic courts and the holding cell area, keeping Care, Custody and Control of the inmates in my immediate custody. I have worked the Main courthouse, the Annex in St. Lucie West and the Juvenile Courthouse on S. 7th. St. . Processing warrants and contempt of court orders and affidavits, which I still do today. My current assignment is Central Control operations of the unit where I have worked for over four years. I am an FTO at the courthouse. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with the deputies who assigned to the Court Security Unit. The past three years, I have been the lead instructor for the StunTronics Band-It EID that we utilize at the courthouse. I have worked multiple high profile events with judges and other county officials after hours providing a safe and secure environment for them and the public. Due to my strong work ethic, I was selected to by an acting supervisor within the Court Security Unit on numerous occasions. I have honorably served the Court Security Unit for over 17 years.
