  • Provided daily screening in-person and telephone calls to determine urgency, assisted students, parents and stakeholders with inquires and concerns, coordinated the annual report and improved budget process, instrumental in the organization of annual events and programs, provided logistical support, mentoring and advisement to students with special needs. These programs included: Dean’s Lecture Series, Western Connection Program, Back to School Luncheon and SPS Award Ceremony

  • A Career Program Specialist (CPS) was responsible for providing prospective and current students with guidance on career education choices by providing excellent communication and having the ability to effectively promote the value of a career –oriented education from a leader in the post-secondary field and a highly recognized national educational institution. A CPS was responsible for reaching out to prospective students to schedule appointments, tour the campus and assist them to learn more about YTI Career Institute and its’ programs. The CPS also matched prospective student needs with YTI offerings through a comprehensive interview process, addressing issues and concerns regarding cost, financing, dress code, curriculum, tutoring, testing procedures, enrollment paperwork information, cancellation policy, and/or other related items. The CPS conducted follow-up calls to answer any questions and to ensure the student was able to progress towards starting school; tracked and maintained records of all calls made, received and issues/concerns addressed; stayed informed of current trends and changes in the industry through participating in admission training meetings and conducted onsite presentations at local high schools to recruit new students. Beginning the October 2018 start, CPS was assigned to oversee the enrollment of the Veterinary Technician program. This program was the most academically challenging program, is highly sought out and one that required multiple visits, continued monitoring and numerous assessments and documents prior to enrollment.

Assisted with career planning and provided an overview of job search and training available in Job Gateway. Counseled, motivated and encouraged individual in gaining, retaining or returning to employment. Provided support in resolving issues that may impede successful job placement and career advancement. Informed participants of services and workshops available, i.e., Career Resource Center, Job Search Center and other community resources and assisted with appropriate referrals.
