• Pump maintenance rebuilds, alignments, replacements.
• Repacking, replacing valves.
• Cooling water system repairs.
• Coupling inspections/repairs.
• Ignition torch replacements/inspections.
• Conex organization installed pipe racks, wire spool stands, & shelving.

Mechanic

• Assists in maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of major mechanical equipment such as: boiler feed pumps, fluid drives, forced draft fans, circulating water pumps, cooling water pumps, filter skids, and all associated auxiliaries.
• Replacing 480/4160 motors.
• Stop valve, and control valve disassembly for inspections, and rebuilds.
• Assists in removing, replacing, and installing powerplant associated equipment including rigging, hoisting, setting, connecting, and aligning.
• Grinding, cutting, and welding on many applications.
• Schematic, and blueprint reading.
• Clean/inspect lube oil tanks, lube oil coolers, condensers, turbine blades.
• Understand measurement concepts, and familiarity with tools used in measuring and inspection such as micrometer and calipers.
• Making gaskets for flanges, cooler lids, turbine/boiler doors etc.
• Repacking valves/pumps.

Operator

• Startup/shutdown of units firing boilers to obtain correct temperatures, and pressures.
• Scoping units online, raising, and lowering MW load ordered from dispatch.
• Performs tests of water chemistry in boilers.
• Inspect/monitor all operating components maintaining equipment insuring readings/alarms are accurate taking corrective action where needed, reporting plant status to control room, and management in a timely manner.
• Assists in safe, and efficient operation of the plant, and supporting systems.
• Monitor, and record plant operating data.
• Issues safe work permits to include general work, inspection, lock out tag out, and hot work.
• Breaker racking, opening, and closing disconnects in switch yards.
• Lube oil pump tests.
• Calibration of O2 probes.
• SWERT rounds during cold weather.
• Weekly bulk storage inventory.
• Filter changing.
• Fuel oil operation.

• Learned operational duties of the plant participating in rounds inspecting equipment for any problems logging all readings.
• Introduction to becoming familiar with basic maintenance skills, water chemistry, and overall operation of the plant.
