• Key contributor for the resolution of policy, process and implementation issues related to the regulatory capital calculation and reporting, including inter dependencies with other projects and initiatives.
  
• Assesses accounting issues pertinent to capital measurement: proactively identifies and articulates them, recommends solutions in order to ensure efficient business solutions and alignment between RBC’s capital reporting and financial reporting e.g. IFRS implementation and its impact on capital. 
  
• Project lead on the semi-annual Quantitative Impact Studies submission to Basel - by coordinating submissions from various group within RBC, review results and summarize impact assessment to senior executives. 
  

• Interpret new Basel guidelines, and summarize impact for stakeholders
• Responsible for the monthly reporting of the Basel III leverage ratio at the consolidated bank level and subsidiary level, and quarterly reporting of the Basel III capital ratios (“BCAR Lite”) for RBC deposit taking subsidiaries. Prepares filing to OSFI on a quarterly basis.  
• Prepare variance analysis to senior management and performance management group on a quarterly basis. 
  

• Advised business platforms on complex accounting issues, working closely with Finance/Business to provide value-added governance. Specializes in derivatives and clearinghouse transactions.
  
• Led the implementation of new standards  by creating detailed Whitepapers (identifying risks, assessing impacts and making policy choices), explaining changes to stakeholders, working with Finance/Business to apply the standard and developing a final corporate policy manual
  
• Ensured smooth transition from Canadian and U.S. GAAP to IFRS, a multi-year project that required in depth analysis of GAAP differences and understanding of industry best practices
  
• Managed the quarterly reporting process by drafting RBC's financial statements and note disclosures, meeting strict deadlines and serving as a key contact for external auditors
  
• Reviewed legal entity financial statements, collaborating with local representatives on extensive rewrites, saving costs through standardization and identifying issues prior to being subject to external audit
  

• Managed audit teams of 3-5 staff members, provided performance evaluations and feedback
