Voluntary Cleanup and Property Redevelopment Program
Provide regulatory oversight of environmental projects in the Voluntary Cleanup and Property Redevelopment
Program. Coordinates the execution of the Voluntary Cleanup Unit and oversees the preparation of technical
projects, designs, plans for investigation through remediation projects, following all applicable federal and state
statutes and regulations, agency policies and guidance. Manage duties associated with potential new voluntary
parties, research of potential new sites, preparation of letters encouraging enrollment in the program and
coordination with those parties through the process. Projects in the program include oil and gas, railroad,
commercial, agricultural, industry, government, and private citizen. Supervise staff which includes making work
assignments and setting staff priorities, setting performance standards, providing performance evaluations, and
supporting career development. Duties include developing and updating program guidance and policies,
maintaining public relations, providing technical support and oversight of projects, maintaining internal tracking,
budgeting, invoicing and monthly reporting. Conducted the review and amendment process for regulation changes
to the program.

State Cooperative Program – Restoration and Long-Term Stewardship Program
Provided regulatory oversight and staff management of environmental projects in the Restoration and Long-Term
Stewardship Unit. Program management included the oversight of the Environmental Use Control Program and the
State Cooperative Program for bankrupt sites in the State of Kansas, presumptive remedy sites and long-term
monitoring sites. Worked closely with legal staff and management in the development of consent agreements and
orders for potential responsible parties. Conducted field investigation and oversight of bankrupt sites. Supervised
staff which included making work assignments and setting staff priorities, setting performance standards,

Bureau of Environmental Remediation - Orphans Site Program
Managed and provided regulatory oversight of sites for the State of Kansas where there was no responsible party.
Duties included project management, field investigations and oversight of field activities, report production, report
review and report generation. Duties included annual reporting and preparation of the State Water Plan Report
and presentation of the information to other State programs.
Managed site investigation and remediation projects for commercial industrial clients and municipalities.
Participated in and managed property redevelopment projects through all phases. Responsible for project
development and project management of local clients.
Managed several national retail petroleum customers with sites located in Kansas and Missouri. Site actions
included emergency response, investigation, monitoring, remediation, site closure. Management duties included
the oversight of emergency spill response, project work plans, report generation, contract management,
subcontractor contract administration, proposal and report generation.
Contract Manager (1998-1999): Managed the Kansas City, Missouri, Environmental Services Contract, and the environmental
office with four full-time staff. Duties included building a strong client base in the Kansas City area, proposal
development, contract negotiations, project scheduling and staffing. Administrative responsibilities included
approving and interfacing with subcontractors, writing purchase orders, payment approvals, client invoicing and
monthly projections.
Geologist (1994- 1998): Managed environmental projects in Kansas and Missouri from project development to final report
generation which included site investigation and remediation. Provided oversight and management of UST projects
for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. Assisted with management of the environmental services contract with the
City of Kansas City, Missouri.
