  • Perform clinical swallow evaluations in order to determine the most appropriate diet for the patient, determine if an increased risk of aspiration is present and to determine whether further instrumental evaluations (i.e., FEES, MBSS) are warranted.

  • Engage in interdisciplinary discussions to disclose patient progress and collaborate on the best plan of care
  • Educate patient and family/caregivers regarding evaluation findings, patient's current level of function, goals targeting improvement of those deficits, and progress towards achieving those goals.
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjusted treatments accordingly.
  • Assist with instrumental swallow evaluations (i.e., FEES) to assess patient swallow function.
  • Utilize Net Health documentation system for documentation of evaluations, daily therapy notes and patient progress.
