In this position, the job required networking with multiple community partners such as nursing home and assisted living staff, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, ECHO, CPS, APS, FSSA, EHA, EPD, Red Cross, food pantries, townships, physician offices, and others.
As a PRN MSW, I covered a maternity leave for a Youth First SW. During this 3 months, I worked with children at Vogel Elementary School who were at risk for academic success due to issues in their personal lives. I used play therapy and counseling techniques to teach them coping skills, and to build their self esteem. I involved teachers, administrative staff, parents, and other family members to help kids meet these goals. This was one of the most rewarding jobs as I got to see kids grow in their self esteem in the short time I was there. I left to pursue a FT job with Holiday Healthcare.
In this position, I worked closely with members (people living with cancer and their families and friends) in order to develop program activities that met their needs, goals. I developed educational, recreational, and fun programming with their input. I managed staff and provided training to staff and volunteers. I networked with community partners such as hospitals, clinics, oncologists, and existing resources, to build a strong program to benefit the members. I developed and taught grief courses for children and adults. I assisted in overseeing the content of our children's program. Willing to discuss my resignation in an interview.
Provided support, therapy, education, and resources to hospice patients and their families. I developed the Bereavement Program, including a bi-weekly Breaking Bread bereavement support group. I was responsible for developing and implementing the Annual Memorial Service.

Worked as a discharge planner for the ICU and ICU stepdown units. Provided coverage of the ER and other units as needed and provided substance abuse info. I then, transferred to their Hospice program.
Worked as the unit social worker for the children and families on the pediatric unit and pediatric ICU. Worked with the staff to provide the patients and families with resources, counseling, emotional support, and education. I also was the MSW for the ICU neuro step down unit which included discharge planning, problem solving, therapy and support to patients and their families. I provided mental health assessments on the units and in the ER, as well as substance abuse evaluations. I left for a better opportunity.
Worked as a First Steps Service Coordinator. This included providing education, support, and resources to families with children who had a disability from ages birth to three.
I also was the SW on the Child Comprehensive evaluation team, which provided social history interviews, education, support, and resources to children, ages 3 to 18.
I co-facilitated a Social Skill group for kids with diagnoses such as ADHD. anxiety/depression, Tourette's Syndrome, and others.

As I did my MSW internship there, I was able to provide therapy to children and adults with disabilities.
Worked as a SW in the chronically mentally ill program. I co-facilitated therapy groups, provided individual counseling, and assisted our team in social/recreational activities. I taught modules to our clients. I then transferred to the Assertive Community Treatment or ACT team when we served the most at risk clients for recidivism to help alleviate their life stressors.
