I began my career with the National Archives over 35 years ago as an Archives Aid pulling various types of records and attending the University of Texas at Arlington to obtain my Bachelor's degree in History
I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1981
In 1976, I was promoted to Archives Technician and began performing specialized searches as well as performing as the team lead in General Reference and liaison with Federal Agencies
In 1978, I transferred to the Archives Branch beginning as a research assistant, assisting genealogical researchers with reference in Census records as well as the Bureau of Indian Affairs records
I assisted researchers and historians in suggesting methods and directions of research
I performed Archival duties arranging and describing records as well as performing preservation, repair and rehabilitation of damaged records
I also maintained and recorded humidity and temperatures for archival records
I cataloged descriptions of holdings for research access to all records
In 1980, I was promoted to GS-1421-07, IRS Supervisory Archives Technician
My duties consisted of interviewing and subsequently hiring, scheduling FTE's, performing quarterly and annual evaluations of 30+ employees and planning and ensuring training and development of employees
I processed incentive awards to improve morale and productivity and held weekly meetings with team members to determine issues of morale and safety and to work out any conflict employees were experiencing

I am the lead in the Nationwide Court Project, since 2011, identifying historically significant records for permanent retention as well as staging disposable records in defined areas for ultimate destruction
This project required knowledge of identifying records of historical nature, maintaining statistics and reporting progress on the project status
I also serve as the lead of the Bureau of Prisons Disposal Project and formerly the lead of the Bureau of Prisons Relocation Project ensuring that designated disposals are removed from shelving locations; and coordinating major relocation efforts
