• Provide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing electrophysiology studies (EPS) and catheter ablation procedures.
• Prepare patients for EP procedures, including assessment, informed consent verification, IV access, and patient education.
• Assist electrophysiologists during complex procedures such as cardiac mapping, ablation, pacemaker, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) placement.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry and intracardiac electrograms; promptly recognize and report arrhythmias.
• Administer and titrate medications, including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, and conscious sedation agents, per protocol.
• Perform procedural time-outs and ensure adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards.
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized EP lab equipment (e.g., 3D mapping systems, stimulators, recording systems)
• Respond to emergent situations, including tachyarrhythmias and bradyarrhythmias, by initiating ACLS protocols and assisting with cardioversion/defibrillation.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and patient stability throughout procedures; document changes and interventions accurately.
• Provide post-procedure care, including vascular access site management, bleeding precautions, and patient recovery monitoring.
• Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, medication management, and device precautions (e.g., pacemakers, ICDs)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including radiation protection and equipment handling.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education related to cardiac electrophysiology

Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory

• Provided comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Assisted interventional cardiologists during procedures such as coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), stent placement, and right/left heart catheterizations.
• Continuously monitored cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status; promptly identify and respond to abnormalities.
• Administered and titrated medications, including anticoagulants, antiplatelets, vasodilators, and moderate sedation per protocol.
• Maintained sterile field and adhered to strict infection control and procedural safety standards.
• Operated and assisted with hemodynamic monitoring systems and imaging equipment.
• Initiated and participated in emergency interventions, including ACLS protocols, defibrillation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Assisted with structural heart procedures such as Transaortic valve replacement, mitral clip, and watchman placement.
• Operated and assisted with the placement and use of Impella, balloon pump, intracoronary ultrasound, rota blade, and CSI.
