• Founder & President, Wholesome Neighborhood Project, San Diego, CA, 2015, 2016, Initiated and led community project to open a farmers market in the Serra Mesa neighborhood of San Diego. Created a Kickstarter campaign that raised $11K from 305 backers, exceeding its goal. Established a nonprofit organization and partnered with the town council to sponsor the market. Ran a social media campaign to bring awareness and support to the project.
• Camp Kesem, UC San Diego Chapter, San Diego, CA, 2014, Served on advisory board. Initiated chapter’s first organized initiative to raise corporate and foundation funding. Secured $5,000 donation from Pfizer. Provided strategic input on communications and events.
• Childhood Obesity Conference, Long Beach, CA, 2013, Chaired Research Track for 7th annual Childhood Obesity Conference in Long Beach, CA. Worked closely with track committee and conference organizers to develop 4 conference sessions. Identified and invited 5 session speakers.
• Healthy Communities Advisory Panel, 2013, Invited by the Colorado Health Foundation to serve on a community advisory panel. Interviewed residents, business owners, and other stakeholders in Westwood, a largely low-income and Latino community. Determined and presented recommendations for increasing active living and healthy eating.
