Perform Linux/UNIX system administration for over 800,000+ DoD civilian personnel, which includes: Configure/tune Linux operating environments Perform scheduled maintenance such as patches and/or enhancements Install COTS products, proprietary software and configure them to successfully run in multiple environments Update/maintain COTS and custom system monitoring scripts and tools.

• Provide security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering.
• Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle; validate system security requirements definition and analysis; establish system security designs; implement security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures; verify security requirements; perform system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities; and support secure systems operations and maintenance Guide the successful completion of major programs and/or projects by acting as a project lead when required Apply extensive technical expertise where needed or requested Represent InfoSec as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters which often require coordination between organizations Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and approaches to assignments.

• Main focus was to support the customer (Edwards AFB - CA) by ensuring that systems and data are viable and functional at all times Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Unix workstations and servers, in support of business processing requirements.
• At the Palmdale site, supported both the F-22 and JSF programs. Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Unix workstations and servers, including Web servers, in support of business processing requirements. Perform software installations and upgrades to Unix operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum level of performance. Ensure Unix workstations/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. Conduct routine hardware and software audits of Unix workstations/servers for compliance with established standards, policies, procedures and configuration guidelines.
