My experience as a creative art educator began with a BS in Art Education at Daemen College in Buffalo, New York where I taught in private and public schools for six years after graduation. I then spent the next 17 years teaching art through community education while raising my three remarkable children. In 1999 I came to New Hampshire and became involved with and eventually served two years as President of the Women’s Caucus for Art. During that time, I continued teaching community education art classes and added art for home schooled children while also pursuing a large commission for the New Hampshire State Archives building. I returned to the classroom full time as a Para educator for two years then accepted a full time art teaching position in 2008 at Newport Middle and High School where my focus has been on establishing higher levels of student learning related to the curriculum competencies. I am dedicated to helping my students stay current with technology by teaching them how to make cutting edge digital portfolios of their work. I am current in my certification and licensed K-12 in New Hampshire as an Art Teacher. I regularly participate in juried exhibitions through local galleries. My love of Black and White Silver gelatin print photography originated with my grandfather who passed it on to my father who passed it down to me. Being first generation American enabled me to begin travelling at a very early age. I have been to my father's home country of Scotland and my mother's home country of Canada and received citizenship to Canada in 2016. I have also traveled to England, Honduras and Puerto Rico and I am planning a trip to Mexico via Toronto Canada this July to spend time with my two son's who have been travelling the world.
