My name is Debra Hanson. I am 36 years old and a mother to two beautiful children. I relocated back to my hometown of Spokane shortly before giving birth to my son; my mission, to build a stable life for my son and myself. My passion is helping people and as someone in recovery I chose to focus my education on the addiction studies field and become a SUDP. I first started by becoming certified as a peer support counselor through the Washington State Department Of Health. When I became pregnant with my daughter I decided it was the perfect opportunity to focus on my degree. I began the Addiction Studies Program at SFCC in January 2020 and I am scheduled to graduate in Fall of 2023 after completing my practicums.
Additionally, there is a gap of employment in my resume. During this time I was receiving treatments for breast cancer.
