    Worked directly with the Pastor and Elders for 28 years. Typed up the letters and reports from the Pastor and prepared Bible study booklets. Typed up the weekly bulletins and special announcement inserts. Typed up and assembled the Annual Reports packet for the congregation and ran off phone directories for the church each year. Assembled the monthly reports for the Ministry Council meetings. Sorted and distributed the mail and directed incoming phone calls to the appropriate person. Handled interoffice correspondence, did general filing of reports and letters and ordering of supplies and assisted on small projects from people in the congregation.

  • Left my Secretarial job to raise a family. I ran the household and cared for my three children from August of 1984 through March of 1996. I waited until my youngest son started Kindergarten before going back to a part time day job as the Secretary at my church.
  • Prior to going back to secretarial work I took care of an elderly woman three nights a week from 6pm to 6am while she recuperated from a bad fall at home. I worked there for one year before taking the job at my church.
  • In 2013 I arranged with the Pastor at my church to shift my 20 hour work schedule to 3 days a week so that I could help to take care of my granddaughter while my daughter went back to work and then I also cared for her second child until they both went to school. I still watch them twice a week after school gets out and also three days a week during their summer vacation.

  • Started in the Bond & Commercial Loan Department and worked for two bosses and 8 analysts. I took dictation, typed up letters and reports, sorted the mail, general filing and answered phones. I occasionally covered the switch board for the receptionist.
  • After a year I transferred to the Law Department where i could better use the skills I learned at Berkeley Secretarial School and was also given a secretarial level promotion and raise. I worked for two lawyers for 22 months before transferring to another floor of the Law Department where I worked for the two lead lawyers on the floor. I was there for four years before leaving to start a family.
