Branch County Citizen of the Year 2023

I was awarded Branch County Citizen of the year for my many Community Service endeavors.

I work with Quincy Legion to assist Veterans in our community. Coordinate a free dinner for Veterans day, with free hair cuts, and collect donations to supply 120 goody bags to Veterans who come to the legion, live in assisted living, and area shut ins.

For the last four year I have coordinated donations for military boxes to go overseas to deployed soldiers, we average 30-50 boxes a year.   Once I moved out of town I missed seeing the kids so I started a free trunk or treat at our legion and helped with Easter Egg hunts and a new Moms Day Shop where kids can shop for mom.  Twenty plus years working with 4-H kids.  Teaching, training, assisting and also taking kids  into nursing homes to practice their fair projects, public speaking, clowning, and demonstrations.

I have been tutoring area student who are struggling the last 5 years.  Lastly, but not least I connect with area seniors and shut ins for conversation.
