Summary

Many different jobs in my life have taught me important lessons, but the common theme that has become apparent to me in the past couple of years in my life is that I have always been a creative person, and I can be successful at it. My favorite art to create is art that makes people laugh, feel joy, and ultimately escape their current world into one that makes them feel something. I love to create and would appreciate an opportunity to be a part of a creative team.

  • As part of the staff of the County Theater, I take part in greeting patrons of the theater as they enter and help them get anything they need while visiting the theater.
  • Many of the patrons and workers at our theater are very knowledgeable about the entertainment world and industry, so I participate in many conversations about art that I love to share.

Senior Camp Counselor

  • Camp Nejeda is a camp for Type One Diabetics. As a counselor, I was in charge of monitoring the blood sugars of my campers and treating them if they were low or high.
  • There were usually eight campers in each cabin, as well as four counselors. The ages of children I watched over the summer ranged from eight to fifteen. We watched the campers all day, starting at 7:00 AM and ending around 10:00 PM. If I can do that job, I can do anything.
  • As a Type One Diabetic myself, Camp Nejeda gave me a special feeling of community and togetherness, as the campers and counselors are all Type One Diabetics as well.

  • As head writer, I picked from many scripts to select six options to use in our performances of Centurion Knight Live, a night of comedy skits and one-acts at my college. I wrote the skit 'The Joker' by myself, while collaborating with two other writers to write the skit 'Hint'.
  • As a director, I directed 'The Joker' and 'Gee!'.
  • As an actor, I portrayed Judge Scott in 'The Verdict' and Smarmy Host in 'Hint'.

  • As part of the staff in Bagel Barn Cafe, I worked with customers at the register, took their order, and got to know the regular customers very well in conversation.
  • Working in the kitchen with food taught me a lot of lessons about taking care of other people, and ourselves as well.
  • Kitchen work is hard work and not easy. I believe everyone should do it at least once in their life because it can be a big wake-up call in many ways.
