Projects

  • Project SMED - Leading the implementation of SMED methodology to reduce production line changeover times, improving efficiency and minimizing downtime. Trained operators on SMED principles and best practices, and piloted improvements on Blender 29, achieving a 25% reduction in the longest changeover process (acid clean). The project is ongoing and will be expanded to the remaining six high-volume blenders. Contributing to increased OEE, reduced material usage, lower production costs, and enhanced operational agility.
  • Changeover Matrix - Managed a team of interns to standardize production cleaning and flush processes across blender lines, reducing operator variability and improving consistency for regular, allergen, and enzyme cleans. Developed a master cleanout matrix and decision model to optimize cleaning methods, reduce material usage, and lower costs. Built an automated solution in TrakSYS MES to notify operators of required cleans based on product attributes and provide standardized step-by-step instructions. Improved visibility into cleaning time and material usage, enabling better planning and operational control. Project was further refined alongside SAP implementation, incorporating detailed product attributes to support a more efficient product wheel.
  • Totowa Sample Room - Led the development of a new Sample Room operation at the Totowa site by designing a standardized, end-to-end process for fulfilling sample orders. Benchmarked best practices across multiple sites and consolidated them into a streamlined workflow. Collaborated with IT, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams to create an integrated system across locations. Standardized sample size requests within MSCRM and partnered with IT to enhance the request form. Additionally, developed an Excel tracking tool to support R&D requests and improve inventory coordination within the Sample Room.
  • Kitting Schedule - Replaced a manual paper-based system with an Excel-based scheduling and tracking tool for the Kitting Department. Improved visibility into order assignments and cycle times, establishing baseline metrics for kit completion. Developed an integrated picklist generator to streamline material preparation by enabling kitters to print required materials for each order. Reduced administrative workload by approximately 4 hours per day while improving accuracy and coordination between teams.
  • Packaging Replenishment System - Developed a Kanban-based packaging replenishment system to improve material flow between facilities. Utilized B700 (Fusion warehouse) to store excess packaging and raw materials, allowing B100 (production) to operate with minimal inventory and freeing space for additional equipment. Reduced on-site packaging in B100 by 52% and improved warehouse organization. Created an Excel-based tracking system to streamline requests, improve communication, and ensure accurate transfer records between buildings.
  • Project Fusion – Warehouse Consolidation & Traffic Optimization
Conducted time studies on hostler trailer movements across three warehouses and the B100 production facility to support consolidation into a single warehouse. Used collected data to model yard traffic, determine required staffing levels, and establish efficient driver schedules. Additionally analyzed forklift movement patterns within raw material warehouses and developed optimized storage layouts and traffic flow, prioritizing high-volume (ABC) materials for improved efficiency.
