  • Serves as the Assistant to the Executive Director, Classified Human Resources, and the Personnel Commission. Provides highly confidential secretarial and administrative support proofreading and typing correspondence related to a wide variety of employee matters including discipline, lay-offs, extended leaves, and terminations. Maintains and updates confidential subject and personnel files, documents, and records. Manages and updates the Executive Director’s calendar.
  • Schedules the Personnel Commission (PC) meetings. Creates the meetings agendas on Diligent Community, which recently replaced BoardDocs, with the assistance of the PC Team. Publishes and distributes the meeting agenda ensuring that public notice and Brown Act rules are followed. Attends the PC meetings; coordinates individuals that would like to speak during the meeting, both in-person and virtually; and monitors the chat, answering any questions posted. Updates the PC Team after the meeting as to what was approved by the Commission. Composes the highlights of the actions taken by the Personnel Commission and sends it via email to the Management Team and the Classified staff.
  • Researches, interprets, applies, and explains routine to complex information related to administration of and compliance with LBCC Personnel Commission Rules and Regulations, Merit System rules, and the Education Code.
  • Accesses, maintains, monitors, and updates departmental budgets and financial records; creates requisitions in PeopleSoft to pay invoices and request open purchase orders for office supplies and restaurants for catering; tracks expenditures; reconciles budgets to expenses; identifies discrepancies and verifies corrections; prepares appropriations transfers and expense transfers for approval; and researches and compiles data for the Personnel Commission budget presentation and year-end.
  • Responsible for adding Human Resources and Personnel Commission items to the Board of Trustees agenda on Diligent Community.
  • Arranges for Human Resources and Personnel Commission staff to attend conferences, workshops, trainings, and professional development courses. Completes a budget for every event, registers the staff, and completes the Travel Authorization via Emburse. After the event, completes the Travel Reimbursement.
  • Responsible for inputting TARS for Personnel Commission and Human Resources staff.
  • Inputs requisitions into NeoGov to hire Human Resources and Personnel Commission staff and to extend assignments. Responsible for assigning and updating access in NeoGov for LBCC employees.
  • Participates in the committees each year that plan the Classified Professional Development Day and Dr. Muñoz’s Appreciation Luncheon in September, and the Classified Staff Appreciation Luncheon in May. Reserves the event space(s); creates the event schedule and the registration form using Microsoft Forms; submits Reprographics requests for flyers and posters; and arranges for catering of food and drinks.
  • Updates the Human Resources and Personnel Commission webpages on the LBCC website. Completed the Content Management System (CMS) training.
  • Submits Facilities and Maintenance Service Requests including Omni Code and key requests.
  • Processes AFT Union release time approvals.
  • Reserves meeting rooms, conference rooms, and event spaces in 25Live. Also creates set-up diagrams and instructions for the events.
