FMVA certified
Throughout my graduate studies in International Economics and Finance and as part of my FMVA certification journey, I’ve led and contributed to several applied projects that bridge theoretical knowledge with practical financial and economic analysis.
One of my most impactful projects involved analyzing wage determination in the Indian Premier League (IPL). I used labor economics concepts such as marginal revenue product (MRP) and supply-demand theory to assess auction dynamics and player salary efficiency. By combining theoretical frameworks with real auction data, I gained a deeper understanding of how labor markets function in high-stakes sports environments.
In another key project, I conducted financial modeling and performance analysis on Tesla using historical data from 2021 to 2023. This involved constructing pro forma financial statements, calculating valuation metrics such as DCF and IRR, and interpreting financial health using profitability, liquidity, and efficiency ratios. It sharpened my Excel modeling skills and prepared me for real-world equity analysis tasks.
I also completed a time-series macroeconomic project using U.S. CPI data to study long-term inflation trends. This project involved data visualization, economic interpretation, and linking inflation behavior to monetary policy responses.
As a graduate student in International Economics and Finance with a strong foundation in corporate finance, microeconomic theory, and financial modeling, I have consistently applied academic concepts to real-world scenarios. I am currently pursuing the FMVA® (Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst) certification to further enhance my expertise in building advanced Excel models, performing company valuations, and conducting investment analysis.
I have conducted hands-on financial ratio analysis, forecasting, and pro forma modeling using publicly available financial statements, including projects involving companies like Tesla. I’ve developed discounted cash flow (DCF) models, evaluated investment opportunities using NPV and IRR, and assessed firm performance using ROA, ROE, and margin metrics.
In economics, I’ve applied marginal revenue product theory to analyze labor market decisions, particularly through a case study of wage determination in the IPL auction system. I’ve also studied international trade, currency fluctuations, and capital markets, with an emphasis on risk assessment and global regulatory environments.
Additionally, I’ve engaged in transfer pricing analysis, exploring how multinational corporations set intercompany prices for goods and intellectual property, and I’ve modeled the tax and economic implications of various pricing structures.
Through all of this, I’ve developed strong analytical, research, and data interpretation skills, combining economic reasoning with financial tools to deliver actionable insights.
