With over 37 years of experience, including a significant tenure at Abilities First Inc, I excel in pediatric physical therapy, demonstrating exceptional progress monitoring and collaborative skills. My expertise in functional improvement and strength training has consistently enhanced student mobility, achieving notable outcomes in diverse educational settings.
I have worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for over 37 years, in multiple settings, with a focus on pediatric physical therapy. I have worked in a school district setting for 15 years plus and I am currently working for a non-for profit, organization, with children with multiple diagnoses, classifications ages 5 through 21.
I work closely with the physical therapist, assessing wheelchair and positioning needs, orthotic and bracing needs as well as planning for goals and progression of skills. I work with children in classrooms with varying ratios including 6:1, 8:1 and 12:1. I have incorporated the use of neurodevelopmental and sensory integration techniques into my daily treatments when appropriate.
I regularly collaborate and communicate with other therapy disciplines, teachers and staff, as well as family members of my students.
I maintain all necessary paperwork that is required during the academic school year, including daily notes, progress, notes, and creating goals for future school year with the physical therapist.
