BEAM is a community based non-profit organization for African American kids. This internship is for the African American youth of Portland, they teach us about the history of portland while also focusing on the future of the black community here. From this experience I've learned:

• Learned the importance of community and teamwork
• Learned the importance of volunteering and networking
• Created an original design which was later turned into a mural
• Cleaned our working space
• Participated in, in person, over the phone and zoom meetings
• Collaborated with architects, artist, farmers and electricians
• Collaborated with administrators on projects for confidence building

• Assisted people in finding concession stands, seating, restrooms and other locations they needed to find
