As an incoming junior at my university, my current professional goals are to gain more experience working in current, intriguing research. I am actively working on labs/experiments through my courses, but want to be able to dedicate my time to benefit a team instead of the individual work done in some classes. I am comfortable doing presentations and speaking in front of others and have a goal set for myself to actively practice educational presentations. For my future career I strive to collaborate with team members in a laboratory setting, with a common goal in mind. This path may take me several ways including forensic work, DNA analysis, genetic counseling, lab technician, drug creation/identification/testing, and even possibly medical device creation and experimentation.
