Enrolled in an intensive 6-week journalism program, where each week, the focus was on a different field e.g. sports, politics, opinion. Mentored by NYT Chief Fashion Critic Vanessa Friedman who guided my weekly articles (e.g. a review on the Whitney Biennale). Met with a plethora of NYT journalists such as David Marchese.

Wrote a 120-page film script, chiefly portraying the aftermath of sexual assault. Importantly, the coming-of-age story explores the question of moral identity in the face of trauma, the role of language as a tool for submission and the psychological impact of dismissing female suffering.

In pursuit of change via storytelling, interviewed women in the arts: writers, actors, dancers, activists, including Dutch princess Mabel van Oranje and union organizer Esperanza Fonseca. www.venusinsimone.com

Helped publish book series 'Kwame's Adventures' which aim to accurately depict Ghanaian culture. Created monthly literacy challenges. Fundraised £650+ by selling self-made paintings. Emailed local MPs to improve the Mental Health Act (now being reformed). Advertised support groups.

Published work for underrepresented young creatives in seasonal magazine issues. Provided detailed feedback through the platform Submittable. Composed personalized rejection letters. Contributed in weekly all-staff meetings (mostly composed of college students, graduates and professors). Attended creative workshops.

Organized Frieze Seoul’s inaugural event (branch of the world’s most influential contemporary art fair). Wrote 10+ curatorial materials for viewers. Translated and transcribed interviews, including for photographer and UCLA professor Catherine Opie. Researched into representing Korean artists such as Shin Hak-Chul.

Translated texts and interviews from Korean to English and vice versa. Contributed in meetings, diving into what the upcoming issues should cover (themes, artists, etc).

Wrote an op-ed on how Korean female artist Park Re-Hyun was overshadowed by her rivaling artist and husband Kim Ki-Chang. Researched sexism within the art industry.
