Hi! My name is Demetrik Whetsel Jr, I’m currently a 21 year old male, mixed race, trying to find my place. A little background history, growing up I was an energetic and very active kid, always playing and being outside, hanging out with friends and coming home late. I have a good family, mom Nicole Whetsel, and dad Demetrik Whetsel, also two siblings my older brother Logen Kissling, and my little sister Nevaeh Whetsel, which yes, makes me the infamous middle child. We struggled in life just like any other family, we fought, had our fall outs, even my parents got divorced at one point in time, but in the end they got back together. My brother and I had are differences even fought a lot as brothers do. Now as I get older I help him as much as I can, and my sister loves to read and like me loves music and she sings a lot and I would never tell her this but she’s actually good, anyways I was a choir boy for my whole school year up until senior year I was in advanced choir or we called it symphonic choir were we go to competitions and compete and we was really good, we had scores in sight reading and singing and they score you out of 5-1, 5 if you didn’t perform well and that if you got a 1 you perform everything perfectly, we got 1 every year for the past 6 years, but in my senior year I developed GERD, which is a acid reflux disease that came out of no where it and damaged my vocal chords to where I couldn’t sing as well anymore, and I didn’t want to hold my choir friends back on competition so I decided to quit it, which was a mistake for me cause I enjoyed music and learning to sing. Fast forward, I graduated high school in 2022 but got let off in the middle cause I had all my credits and wanted to start work. So, I worked at AGC glass plant as a production assistant for 8 months 2nd shift, we worked 7 days a week 12hr days for my line alone and I had no time off, even for holidays cause the was so far behind on orders and I had to leave to find a job that would pay me fair and give me better opportunities to actually live my life, there I had no life, So that’s when I found AT Grade, cousin found the job and introduced me to the manager and it was and is a great time. Been working currently for 2 years and it helped me find enjoyment is working, at first I wasn’t to fond of working and doing hard labor everyday, I guess you could say I was lazy, but then as time went on and the older I got I realized I needed to stop thinking small minded and look bigger and focus on what I wanted out of life, now my work ethic has improved drastically, confidence grew, and I come home stratified with the day. Still got other dreams but it’s a step forward. Speaking of that my dream is to travel and see the world and all its beauty, I don’t want to regret what I haven't seen or done before time is gone, especially with me being so young, I want to find the best things this life has to offer and take advantage so I don’t live with doubt and regrets, and that’s me thank you for taking the time to read this and considering me for the opportunity to make a difference in my life!
