This was a completely peds unit with children who have been victims of drug and alcohol abuse, and those that were born with cleft palates. Most of these children were total care and in vegetative states. Minimal to no cognitive ability, this was a 6 bed unit with most charge nurse responsible 10-15 on day shift and 15-20 on noc shift.

• Strengthened training and nursing knowledge by taking part in continuing education programs and CGI workshops.
• Delivered high level of quality care to diverse diagnoses while overseeing patient admission and triaging based on acuity and appropriate department admission.
• Monitored patient reactions after administering medications and IV therapies.
• Kept optimal supply levels in treatment rooms, triage and other areas, particularly in observation, where pts typically remain for initial 72 hours.

Spent time on traumatic brain injury with peds pt, helping to regain use of limbs, and develop levels of cognition along with therapy. many peds had trachs and picc lines routinely receiving iv/abt, due to their age adverse reaction were constantly being monitored 24/7. 90% of the peds population received enteral feeding due to various gastric issues that caused nausea and regurgetation.
