This was a completely peds unit with children who have been victims of drug and alcohol abuse, and those that were born with cleft palates. Most of these children were total care and in vegetative states. Minimal to no cognitive ability, this was a 6 bed unit with most charge nurse responsible 10-15 on day shift and 15-20 on noc shift.
