I then took an EMT Basic class in 2009 for a volunteer position at our local fire dept in New Milford Fire while working on the ambulance I would attend patients blood pressures accu checks and transport them to local hospitals. I would have to radio the hospital and give a pre hospital report. Upon completing the EMS Basic I was then hired in at Swedes as an Ed Technician. My duties included starting Iv's and assisting the Dr's and Rns with wound care helping stablelize upon arrival to the dept patients and also transporting pts to their assigned rooms on the floors. upon admission.
