1. Stony Point High School:

a. English teacher: 9th and 10th grades:

  • Developed lesson plans to engage students in English language learning, reading and writing.
  • Worked with other teachers to support struggling students in English Language Arts.
  • Assessed student progress in ELA for promotion to the next grade level.
  • Created curriculum and activities focusing on reading, problem- solving skills, critical thinking, and writing.
  • Prepared lessons focusing on the state- mandated TAKS testing.

b. 2. Stony Point 9th Grade Center:

a. English Language Arts Teacher and Pre- Ap/ TAG teacher:

  • Developed lesson plans to engage students in English language learning, reading and writing.
  • Assisted in creating a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promoted emotional well-being and academic growth for all students.
  • Coordinated activities with other teachers to encourage interest in reading and critical thinking.

b. District Literacy Specialist: Focued on sharing strategies for reading and writing success; incorporate best practices for reading and writing strategies; completed the Campus Action Plan; trained in Culturally Proficient Literacy Coaching; selected as District Diversity trainer after months of classes taught by two Texas State professors; attended the Secondary Struggling Reader Literacy Institute, 2005.

3. McNeil High School:
