I am currently retired from the Federal Correctional Institute McKean. During my time of being retired, I am enjoying spending time with my family and friends. On occasion, I conduct odd jobs of lawn mowing, snow removal, and some carpentry work.
I also kayak, ride ATV's, and anything else that may be an outside doors activity.
As a Unit Manager at the federal prison, I supervised a total of fifteen (15) staff members. They consisted of case managers and counselors of inmates incarcerated at F.C.I. McKean. My responsibilities consisted of the following:
I was promoted to the position of Lieutenant in 2013. During my time as lieutenant, I worked as Operations Lieutenant, Special Investigative Supervisor, Special Housing Unit Lieutenant, and Acting Captain on several occasions. I supervised 100 correctional officers at this time. As a Lieutenant and Acting Captain, my duties consisted of, but not limited to the following:
I became employed with the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a correctional officer. As an officer, my responsibilities included, but were not limited to the following:
I was employed at the Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) in 2016. I worked the evening and morning shift while working at BRMC. I worked by myself on the morning shift, maintaining the proper and accurate running of the laboratory. During my employment, my duties consisted of, but not limited to the following:
I enlisted in the United States Army from 1991 - 1996. During my enlistment, my position was a Medical Laboratory Specialist working at Brooke Army Medical Center at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. My main duties were working in a hospital atmosphere while also maintaining my training as a soldier through physical fitness, weapon qualifications, and partaking in field exercises. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to the following:
I have received numerous awards and letters of recommendation throughout my career in the U.S. Army. I was awarded these for my exemplary performance during promotion boards where I was selected as Soldier of the Month, Soldier of the Quarter, and Soldier of the Year while stationed at Ft Sam Houston, TX. I received letters of commendation for the finding of malaria in two (2) officers that had returned to the United States from a tour in Panama. This assisted in their immediate treatment of this disease and aided in their fast recovery.
While employed at F.C.I. McKean, I received numerous awards and letters of recommendations for my job performance. I was selected as Officer of the Quarter on three occasions and Officer of the Year on one occasion. I was selected as Supervisor of the Year on one occasion. I received several monetary awards and time off awards for finding contraband throughout the institution and on inmates themselves. This aided in the safe and secure running of the institution, the staff, and inmates alike.
I qualified with weapons on a yearly basis. This entailed a 9mm pistol, AR15, and shotgun while employed at F.C.I. McKean.
I currently hold a concealed to carry permit as well as my Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) qualification permit for the 9mm pistol.
