I have thoroughly enjoyed my long, full time and consulting working career in laboratory testing and management in the cement/concrete field. I am ready to begin new challenges as a part time employee.
Trained my replacement QC Manager upon retirement from full time employment. Advised management staff on proper product quality levels and conducted necessary technical project work as required. Filled in for vacation vacancies in lab staff as needed.
Managed all QC functions and administrative tasks to support production and sales staff. Performed all necessary bench tests to comply with internal ISO 9000 standards and ASTM requirements and maintained appropriate product quality levels. Conducted research on various slag/cement blends to better serve customers.
Ran successful decorative concrete curbing business including customer acquisition, advertising, installation, etc.
Learned the cement/concrete QC business by starting as a lab technician and working up to Quality Manager. Managed a staff of eight technicians and chemists to comply with internal and external standards. Learned microscopy, XRF, PSD, and other required testing methods to control product quality throughout the manufacturing process. Performed analysis on water discharge from facility.
Conducted field and lab testing of soil samples in support of construction projects for engineering firm.
