- 4 years on a team responsible for successful tech modernization and drastic cost reduction of a large legacy system. The system was using on-prem servers in every store that consisted mostly of applications written in C language, using databases including DB2, Informix, and Cassandra. The entire system was successfully migrated over to an Azure cloud-based environment with Kubernetes and applications using mostly Java, Microsoft SQL Server, and related technologies. The system is instrumental in pharmacy operations, consisting of 9 databases and over 50 applications, serving millions of requests per day to various internal clients. Promoted to Software Engineer III and Tech Lead of my sub-domain.
- 1 year on a small team that successfully launched the first Self-Dispensing Medication Vending Machines in Sam's Club stores, allowing customers to get qualified medications dispensed from the machine without needing to wait at the pharmacy. Primarily used Java and Microsoft SQL Server with managed on-prem servers to create the system that communicated with the vending machines, handling all the data transactions and business logic required. We rolled out the machines in multiple Sam's Club locations before handing off the project to another team for maintenance and expansion.
- 2 years on a team that was responsible for successfully adding many new features to the Walmart customer-facing website, specifically in the Health and Wellness domain. The team handled backend development related to new features and updates to the website, including Prescription Tracker and Curbside Pickup.
