Teaching Experience

Certificate Program Developer | Instructor – Orange Coast College, Consumer Sciences, Fashion Dept. (2016 – 2020)

  • Curriculum Development – I was tasked with creating a 3-course Sustainability in Fashion certificate program. For 3 years I led students through all 3 of the courses I developed, teaching them the ins and outs of what we are referring to when we say “sustainability in the apparel industry.
  • Also taught Fashion Merchandising 101, I was known for having an engaging class, based on real-world merchandising and brand building concepts. I used my experience in the action sports space, and in entrepreneurialism to keep students engaged and excited about the course material.

Instructor – Orange Coast College, Architecture Department (2016 – 2017)

  • I led an online Sustainability 101 course and curated the material to ensure the students were informed from a variety of angles. My aim was to create an intriguing and compelling dialogue for participants, so they leave the course armed with enough information to begin formulating sustainability strategies of their own.

Part Time Instructor, School of Business, Orange Coast College (2005)

  • Teaching Business 100 for a semester, I was responsible for following established curriculum while adding my own industry-related topics, activities and assignments to keep the class relevant and engaging, while maintaining a focus on student learning success.
