I'm looking to secure a position as a LPN with a company I can grow with and utilize my interpersonal skills that I have gained through the 8 years I spent working in the Department of Corrections, as well as implementing skills obtained through my recent studies in nursing school, hospice and home health. I have 3 years experience as a CNA in LTC facilities and 8 years as a LPN. I've had the privilege of serving both Mayo Clinic and Baptist Hospital patients that required wound care, education, medication and symptom management. I earned a 4.0 GPA while attending FCTC in 2018 and served as the Phi Theta Kappa service vice president for a semester at St. Johns River State college. I look forward to beginning school again so I can become a NP with a focus on opening a wound clinic.

As a Correctional Officer I am a seasoned corrections professional who remains calm and confident even in the most adverse and stressful working conditions. I have excellent morals and ethics, as well as excellent crisis management skills. Focusing on the safety in all interactions with inmates and staff, I was able to properly train new employees as I would shadow them and observe their way of operating. My main focus was to maintain peace, security and safety within my institution. I view myself as a persuasive leader able to generate respect and obedience from the most difficult inmates. I am a person that displays integrity and hard work and I am dedicated to whatever cause I am working for. I am a team player and like to look at things from a logical stand point. I supervised one employee in their daily duties, as well as 142 inmates within my dormitory. I have dealt with many life altering situations with people whom were in my custody, and would counsel with them to my trained ability and refer them to the correct contacts for the proper help.

The village Doctors were cutting cotton balls in half and children were dying over there every day with illness and disease that could easily be prevented with antiseptic and other low cost medical supplies. My group worked with WISE (Woman's Initiative to Strengthen and Empower), a non-profit organization, to get the supplies to the village and its people without incurring additional costs which totaled over $4,000 to send privately.
