· Assures protocol requirements are achieved within Good Clinical Practice guidelines by adhering legal, professional, and ethical standards.

· Screens consents for subjects participating in research studies.

· Works collaboratively with research patient and study coordinator to carry out research study.

· Educates subjects on research protocol and associated responsibilities.

· Provide care for medical/surgical patients; services included but not limited to orthopedic, gyn/onc, acute care surgery, and vascular patients.

· Possess the knowledge and judgment needed to meet the nursing needs of patient.

· Administers appropriate pharmaceuticals and treatments to patients.

· Performs blood draws via venipuncture or use of stopcock device on peripheral intravenous line.

· Collect bodily fluid specimens and transport to lab.

· Notifies appropriate team in changes of patient's assessment and performs adequate interventions to ensure patient safety.

· Insertion of peripheral intravenous lines as needed.

· Demonstrated leadership role by serving as charge nurse and preceptor.

· Perform nursing duties such as monitoring drains, wound vacs, and foleys.

· Performs admissions and discharges.

• Plan and coordinate individualized patient care plan with interdisciplinary team
• Prepares and administers prescribed medication through various routes (PO, subcutaneous, IM, IV etc)
• Knowledgeable in administering TPN, blood products, tube feedings, and patient controlled analgesia
• Provide care to ventilator dependent patients with complex respiratory conditions and performed trach care.
• Perform change of dressings, wound care, and foley care
• Management of drains (NG, PEG, JP, chest tube)
• Set up, maintain, and track patient's progress on telemetry cardiac monitoring
• Responds to life saving events based upon nursing standards and protocol
• Observe and monitor patient's vital signs, collect lab samples, and record I&O's
• Assist with patient's ADL's (personal hygiene tasks and linen changes)
• Record all care information accurately and concisely in EPIC
• Perform admissions and transfers
• Participate in discharge planning
• Provide patient education and collaborate with providers to ensure a continuum of care.
