Family Medicine Rotations 

Champion Teamwear & K-STAT- Manhattan, KS  

Stormont Vail Flint Hills- Junction City, KS 

• Sole student in a comprehensive family medicine rotation across two facilities, gaining broad exposure to primary care and urgent care setting.
• Performed various clinical procedures including knee/shoulder injections, toenail removals, skin biopsies, suturing, cryotherapy, trigger point injections, and developing diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Collaborated closely with medical teams to deliver patient-centered care, managing both routine and urgent cases.
• Rotated through urgent care department, handling a range of acute conditions and coordinating with team members.

Emergency Medicine Rotation 

Nemaha Valley Community Hospital- Seneca, Kansas 

• Managed critical care in a demanding rural ER, working 36-hour shifts as the sole student alongside one provider.
• Executed multiple medical procedures, including intubation, suturing, IV / IO access, ACLS, bleeding management, and treatment of fractures.
• Responded to a wide range of emergencies, such cardiac arrest, musculoskeletal injury, CVA, acute illness and sepsis.

Orthopedic Surgery Rotation 

Cotton O'Neil Orthopedics and Sports Medicine- Topeka, KS 

• Participated in a broad spectrum of procedures, including total knee arthroplasties (TKA), total hip arthroplasties (THA), management of traumatic injuries, and arthroscopies as the sole student allowing for a comprehensive teaching environment.
• Handled direct patient care in the clinic, including seeing patients independently, performing knee and shoulder injections, and carrying out splinting and casting.
• Acquired significant experience in both surgical and clinical settings, contributing to a busy practice with a focus on cutting-edge robotic assisted technology.

Pediatric Rotation

Blue River Medicine- Manhattan, KS 

• Conducted a focused rotation in a primary care clinic with a strong emphasis on pediatric patients, serving as the sole student.
• Managed a variety of routine pediatric cases, including well-child exams and treatment of common illnesses.
• Developed and implemented treatment plans for pediatric patients, working closely with families to ensure comprehensive care.

Geriatric Rotation 

Erickson Medical Clinic- Seneca, KS 

• Completed a comprehensive rotation in geriatric care, encompassing multiple departments within the health center. 

• Worked in the family medicine clinic, providing routine and acute care to elderly patients, and assisting in the development of individualized care plans. Also gained hands-on experience in the nursing home, managing  geriatric cases and coordinating care with the medical team. 

General Surgery Rotation 

Surgical Associates- General Surgery, Manhattan, KS

• Gained experience in General Surgery, working with both laparoscopic and robotic techniques on cases such as hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, breast tumor removals, lipoma removals, and appendectomies.
• Assisted with diverse surgical procedures, including robotic and laparoscopic interventions.
• Contributed to both surgical and clinical aspects, enhancing skills in a variety of procedures and patient management in a busy, multifaceted surgical environment and the hospital med-surg unit.

Women's Health Rotation 

Family Center for Health Care- Colby, KS

• Conducted comprehensive pelvic exams, performed routine prenatal care and assisted with ultrasounds. I routinely monitored fetal heart tones and fundal height measurements.
• Provided compassionate care to obstetric and gynecological patients, including annual wellness exams and thorough postpartum assessments to support maternal recovery and address individual needs.
• Actively assisted in C-sections and vaginal deliveries, gaining experience in the labor and delivery process while supporting the surgical team.
• Participated with in office procedures such as colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, and IUD placement.
