- Attends and assists with neonatal resuscitation of healthy and high risk newborns
- Assists with admissions of sick and stable newborn's, assists with transfer of unstable newborns to higher level of care
- Cross trained to Newborn Nursery
- Assumes the charge nurse role
- Delegates as appropriate to unit census and acuity
