As the Subject Matter Expert for Consolidate Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), along with all attached peripheral systems, and equipment, I am tasked with the maintenance, restoration, troubleshooting, and coordination for ships in need of support. In addition to that, responsibilities such as training, and evaluating ship's systems and the sailors put in charge of this network, falls on me as well.
- Performed over 15 evaluations of shipboard systems including ePolicy Orchestrator (Version 5.10 and lower), Assured Compliance Assessment Solutions (ACAS), Super-Agent Distributed Repository (SADR) configurations, ensuring that all Naval Ships are in compliance with Fleet-Wide Cyber Policies.
- Conducted high level troubleshooting, resulting in the reatoration of various systems across several enclaves on Virtual Machines, ACAS, ePO, SADR, Windows, Red Hat Linux, Cisco Routers, Firewalls, VEEAM, and various other backup, scanning, and reporting programs.
- Assisted local System Administrators with system operations, assessments, troubleshooting, monitoring, maintaining, and restoring full operability of all shipboard services.
- Troubleshooting and training on various pieces of hardware ranging from switches, routers to Uninterrupted Power Supplies, fiber, and ethernet cabling.
- Review, and when needed, correct configurations on various network security programs such as Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Endpoint Encryption Manager.
- Capable of handling various network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, TCP/IP, FTP, UDP, DNS, NAT, RPC, DHCP, IPSEC, VPN, and Ethernet.
- Experienced with the restoration of replication and mirroring of various network systems such as Food Service Management, Retail Operation Manager, Maintenance Figure of Merit, VRAM, Nessus Scanners, and NTP services from ship to shoreside servers.
