• Seamanship skills such as line throwing, splicing, docking and sailing oil barges, radio communication, waterway navigation, proper look out and watch standing duties
• Maintaining the vessel such as painting, needle gunning, washing the exterior and cleaning windows, keeping the galley and wheelhouses clean, and keeping all supplies and equipment organized
• Upholding good relations with the crew for weeks at a time, working as a team to keep the vessel safe and operational
• Extensive work towing barges offshore, from Maine to Texas, duties included getting on and off the wire and securing the vessel for sea

•Operation and maintenance of diesel generators from 2kw to 100kw

and light carts

• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues
• Referring to maintenance manuals for repairs and documenting actions taken
• Performing Routine PMs
• Maintaining shop order and cleanliness

• Same seamanship skills required as above
• Made over a dozen barge docking/sailings many days of the week
• Executed all vessel operations with only myself and one master aboard the the vessel
• Moved material barges, hopper barges, crane barges, and other miscellaneous jobs that required quick thinking and shifting tactics
