- Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: I Operates on a regular basis medium construction equipment such as bulldozers, motor graders, scrapers, excavators and loaders. Loads and moves materials; clear slopes and finishes surfaces I also performed manual labor work by putting snow chains on all equipment we use during snow season such as dozers, graders, dump trucks, loaders, skid steers. I also replaced blades and forks . I also operating both striping equipment trucks in TOS (Specialty equipment ) The striping trucks are large pressurized trucks that carry over 100 gallons of yellow, black, and white road paint for traffic operations. its a high volume hydraulic and material delivery system enables the simultaneous application of centerline and edge line markings, vacuum bead loading system available.thermostatically controlled material heating system to provide accurate material viscosity control.safety and warning light imperial/metric stripe control system.efficient paint loading system.
- I Operates all equipment normally associated with the class of Equipment Operator as required. I Demonstrated expertise in operating all equipment associated with the department, such as a broom truck, cone truck,stencil truck, parking lot push liner, and sign truck. During storm or snow season, I operate dump trucks,loaders, snow blowers, and skid steers and more.
- May be assigned small equipment construction jobs; may direct the work of others as assigned to the job. I act as a senior equipment operator by leading a group of six guys or more on a regular basis. I drive the striping truck while instructing my crew members on how to stripe county roads. I have crew members riding in the back of the striping truck on my left side they paint yellow and black, and I have another crew member on my right painting white. While leading this crew in moving operations, I'm directing another crew member in front of me to clean and remove any dirt or debris off the road and to control traffic when we come to intersections. I also direct my other two crew members behind me to place cones on top of the paint so traffic does not run over freshly painted lines on the road.
- May be temporarily assigned in emergency situations, or due to workload to operate heavy equipment and perform duties normally assigned to a higher level. I have Respond promptly to time-sensitive incidents by driving either a personal or county vehicle to remote or distant locations as required, ensuring timely resolution and support based on the nature and urgency of the situation i Performs a variety of road & drainage maintenance including pothole patching, asphalt repairs, debris removal, and traffic signs. I have Operated heavy construction equipment, including pick-up trucks, rollers, street sweepers, dump trucks, front end loaders, patch truck, crack sealer, dozers, graders, dump trucks, loaders and power tools, as required. Performs construction duties including setting up traffic control, picking up/delivering hot asphalt, assist paving crew with various duties such as; shovel and raking, safely directing backing/dumping trucks into paver.
- Performs minor repairs and preventive maintenance to assigned equipment. Service and repairs are performed on equipment as needed and required. Because we travel and do not have a maintenance shop near us, I have performed repairs such as identifying air pressure loss, clogged lines, replacing lines, loss of power due to electrical issues, loose wiring, replacing and fixing broken paint guns. Performs routine daily maintenance including pre/post trip inspections, checking and filling fluids, report repairs, and cleaning work area, tools, and equipment Handles road materials including asphalt, oils, gravel, limestone, and crack sealer material
- Prepares and is required to maintain simple records of time worked and equipment used. I work off of reference marks that technicians assign on Cartograph, marked on the ground, such as a detail 22, which is double yellow 6-in. lines with a black 3-in. line in the middle, or a detail 24 or 27, which are right and left white 6-in. fog lines. I understand all details and specifications that we are supposed to use according to the Caltrans reference we use.
- Performs routine skilled and unskilled heavy manual labor as required. My current operations on a regular basis are operating both striping equipment trucks in TOS. - Driving and riding in a cone truck to control traffic and place cones on the road so that cars and pedestrians won't walk or cross freshly painted lines as line trucks paint roads.
- Stencil work: maintaining county roads by painting crosswalks, turning and merging arrows, mph markings, railroad crossings, and stop ahead signs on new and installed roads maintained by the county.
- Sign work: replacing all traffic signs on county roads, replacing SOIs (street address signs), installing project signs for upcoming road projects installing paddles so that vehicles can have a guidance on roads at night.
