Masters Program Research

Educational Counseling, The Essential Qualities and Knowledge for Effective Counseling, 02/2022, 05/2022, Find a design that provides the knowledge and skills required to generate and evaluate research relevant to various areas of professional education. Obtained research approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to conduct a scientific study and compose an oral and written report focused on the practical needs of educators who wish to join the larger professional community in their specialty., Identified achievement outcomes for students participating in a school counselor-led, Student Success Skills intervention were investigated. Students in two grades in a single school participated in the action research. Achievement outcomes were measured using the California Comprehensive Assessment Test. Students who participated in the intervention showed a greater mean improvement in reading and math scores than at district or state levels. The authors describe how sharing improved student outcomes led to a decrease in duties assigned to the school counselor unrelated to facilitating the school counseling program and a greater appreciation and respect for the contributions of the school counselor.

Public Service Experience

Food Pantry Lead, St. Miguel Church, Food Distribution Center, 06/2019, Present, Prepared food and dish out meals every Sunday to over 200 people, Planned and organized two successful fundraising events, which raised the food bank over $2,500 in total., Provided valuable support to ministry teams in performing church activities, administrative support, and congregational outreach, Increased youth attendance at church events by 5% after planning and implementing youth-based activities.
