  • Use established procedures and standing route orders to arrange for shipment of or general freight for Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Transportation Contracts (air and surface), Domestic Freight Routing Request Orders, and Export Release freight.
  • I consider the urgency of shipments, availability, and speed of carriers prior to making route/release decisions. I review automated documentation for all types of shipments taking appropriate action to correct any invalid, void, or missing information. Review Transportation Control and Movement Document and Manifest, to ensure correctness and validity of paperwork.
  • Prepare related documents for shipments having technical requirements. I assign RFid tag jAMS (Java Automated Manifest System) to provide material traceability for outgoing shipments.

  • Use different modes of shipment that include, but are not limited to truckload, less-than-truckload, flat bed, flat racks, pickup, etc. Ship containers to destinations that include other military activities.

  • Order necessary equipment and update any change to containers when required. Also, I review shipping papers such as Transportation Movement Request and Logistical Movement Request along with Commercial documents according to the carriers to ensure accuracy and that there are no discrepancies and container control to assure that the containers are loaded and dispatched within the specified time frame allowed by the container agreements to prevent detention charges against the government.
  • Maintain personal, email and telephone liaison with commercial carrier representatives, depots and military traffic management agency on problems concerning late shipments, services to be provided, documentation. I generate shipping manifest and Bill of Lading for international shipment. I generate Bill of Ladings accordingly to materials being shipped.
