Successful student with experience working with patients and customers. Worked on my communication skills to better connect with others and enhance care in both the medical setting and outside. Inspired to help others and solve problems with the best strategies I can provide. Works really well in a group/team setting and is always open to learn and listen to other's experiences. Likes to be creative and create new ways to showcase information to a broader audience.
I am currently a member of the Diversity Recruitment Team in the Office of Admissions here at Fairfield University. I work with a team to brainstorm ideas to increase diversity on campus, and to welcome potential students. We take part in a letter-writing campaign, leading the MVP (Multicultural Visit Program), and improving the ways Fairfield can inform students about any questions they may have through videos, posts, and publications.
I greeted guests, gathered information to seat groups or place them on a waitlist, assisted in cleaning and setting up tables, took orders when it was very busy, worked the cash register, helped pack orders, and kept the lobby and workplace clean. I gained a lot of experience in customer service and coordination, as well as how to work better in a team.
I worked side by side with a doctor and was able to scribe, run vision field tests, OCTs, take Optomap photographs, and work up patients prior to seeing the doctor. I also occupied myself with verifying patient information (medications, surgeries, diseases, personal info), filing patient charts, keeping track of assigned medications, and calling patients with updates and/or reminders.
