Main duties included: Dispatch tactical aircraft missions and performs coordinating the availability of assigned aircraft to flight mission requirements. Coordinates and schedules, monitoring their flight records and applying knowledge of regulatory requirements and develops monthly Flying Hour Report. Develops and maintains procedures for tracking aircrew member flying status such as a Red/Green indicator system. Receives, reviews and processes flight plans, as well as reviews flight plans for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with regulations. Mission Schedule/Brief with mandatory items completed IAW AR 95-1. Calls to the attention of pilot's incomplete or incorrect entries for correction. Coordinates IFR and VFR flight plans with such agencies as Flight Service Station (FSS), Air Traffic Control (ATC) and/or control tower IAW local flying policies. Maintains flight dispatch monitor/board for inbound/outbound aircraft per local policy. Initiates overdue aircraft procedures, alerts appropriate authorities when activating the Pre-Accident Plan, Severe Weather Plan, or any other contingency response plan related to the airfield or facility. Prepares reports maintaining an up-to-date flight planning room with telephone or internet access to weather, Flight Service Station (FSS), NOTAMS.
Ensures flying publications (FLIPs), aeronautical maps and
charts, weight and balance information, and airfield data are current. Ensures flying area hazard maps are reviewed and updated at least once every 30 days. Monitors safety information provided by the safety center and other safety agencies for posting in the Reading File. Ensures crewmember documentation is made of those crewmembers who stay current on the Reading File. Maintains Individual Flight Records Folders (IFRF) and included required documentation IAW FM 3-04.300 Flight Operations. Maintains each crewmember's electronic IFRF in the Centralized Aviation Flight Records System (CAFRS). Closes out flight records for each crewmember at the end of their birth month or more often as required by FM 3-04.300. Inputs flying hours into the CAFRS system either manually or electronically, Assigns access roles in the CAFRS database for tenant unit flight operations personnel, safety personnel, instructor pilots, and the commander.
Implements local training and procedures for each crewmember in the CARS database.
