My last 7 years of nursing before I quit to take care of my Mom , were in OB/GYN. I did all i could for my provider when working in Ob, such as fetal heart tones, GBS @ 37 weeks, reminded pt to pre-register and also did the New OB Orientation Class for Couples. In GYN clinic, I assisted with all exams as well, to include cryosurgery, STD testing and routine exams. Many years back, I also worked Mother Baby Care @ The BirthPLace. In my 43 years of nursing, OB-GYN has been my rewarding specialty.
Provided comprehensive reproductive healthcare from prenatal care to postpartum support. This included educating patients about reproductive health, assisting with exams and procedures, and collaborating with physicians to ensure patient well-being. Prenatal Care : I did prenatal screenings, monitored fetal development, educated expectant mothers on proper prenatal care, and provided emotional support during pregnancy. Post partum Care: Supported post partum patients with infant care, breast feeding education, emotional well being, as well as monitoring for any postpartum complications or depression. Gynecological Care: Assisted with exams, such as Pap Smears, STD testing and pelvic exams and educated on sexual health, contraception, and family planning. Accurately documented patient assessments, vital signs, and medical histories.
