Diane Suneson

As the only physical therapist in the district , I work with students three to twenty one years of age with a wide range of delays and disabilities. I evaluate and treat students, write IEP's, order equipment and consult with teachers and families .

As a Collaborative therapist, I was assigned to a public school district . I worked with children from the preschool to high school in the district setting. I performed all the duties required of the public school district including evaluation and treatment , attending meetings and writing individual education plans . I also worked in a severe intellectual disability classroom run by the Collaborative

As the physical therapy consultant for the early intervention program , I performed direct treatment , evacuations and consultations with staff and families. I was also responsible for supervising two physical therapists. I worked at this job one day per week.

I worked in the educational program with students with multiple disabilities. I was also the consultant for the Assistive Device Resource Center and was responsible for evaluating students for positioning equipment. I also worked in the Metropolitan Region Early Intervention Center providing direct service, consultation, and group therapy for children birth to three years of age.

I provided physical therapy services to children primarily between the ages of one to seven years of age at this small private early childhood program .

I worked at two locations for DHS. I worked on the Crippled Children's Unit at DC General Hospital as well as Sharpe Health School . At the hospital I worked with high risk infants, juvenile amputees, and children with developmental delays. At Sharpe health school I worked with children between the ages of 5 to 16 year of age with a multitude of disabilities.

I worked as the physical therapy consultant with adolescents with severe intellectual disability's . I visited education programs, and collaborated with other team members. I was responsible for staff training including transfer techniques, positioning and motor development .

• Tested and measured patients' strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, and functional capacity at this long term rehabilitation hospital .
• Planned and administered range of treatments and therapeutic exercise programs involving active and passive ranges of motion and muscle reeducation.
