Ms. Hernandez is a Survey Analyst for both the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and Underground Utility Locating teams. She is responsible for utility research, topographic surveys and mapping, boundary mapping, preparing underground utility locating exhibits, and processing data. Ms. Hernandez’s expertise has been utilized on a variety of project types for public and private clients such as SoCalGas, PG&E, SDG&E, the cities of Ontario and Dana Point, and private developers. Survey Analyst

  • Crew Man and Survey Analyst
  • Utility locating and SUE services for2,100 linear feet of the design of a6-inch gas line installation on135th Street between Broadway and Figueroa Streets and on Figueroa Street from135th Street to13660 Figueroa Street for SoCalGas
  • Services included records research, subsurface utility scan of the project’s limits from lip of gutter to lip of gutter, a GPS topo sweep of the above-ground utility evidence, survey of existing centerline monuments and centerline ties to establish street right of ways, establishing control and tie-in to benchmarks, a LiDAR aerial scan to capture street improvements, and a boundary analysis for the street right of ways
  • WLG prepared an AutoCAD boundary and topographic basemap depicting all of the subsurface and above-ground utilities; existing street centerlines and right of way lines; curb, gutter and edge of pavement; and driveways

Mapping Technician

SCE Land Survey & Mapping Services
  • Under several on-call contracts, WLG has been providing land surveying and mapping services for various programs throughout SCE’s service territory since2007
  • Work has included: route, property, control, planimetric, topographic, as built, and LiDAR surveys; potholing; utility and agency research; due diligence; base mapping of overhead and underground facilities; plan and profile drawings; topographic mapping;3D modeling; records of survey; ALTAs; parcel maps; utility crossings; licenses/permits; encroachment, R/W exhibits; construction staking; and legal descriptions and plats for acquisition and condemnation
  • Programs that team members have been involved with over the years includes the DSDD for utility pole work and L&L Exhibits

Mapping Technician

SCE DSDD Program Support Services
  • Under an On-Call Land Survey & Mapping Services Contract, WLG team members have been providing full survey services for SCE’s DSDD Program including boundary and topographic surveys; surface surveys; research; establishing centerline, R/W, and property lines; base maps;3D modeling; and planimetrics for location of at least two monuments at each identified location using reflectorless total station, terrestrial scanning, and/or UAV photogrammetry for above-ground poles and overhead wires
  • Research has included requesting Caltrans maps, record maps, deeds, and assessor’s maps
  • To date, WLG team members have provided services on over45 DSDD projects in SCE’s service territory
