Relevant Research Projects

  • PSU Geology Department Thesis: Geochemical Investigations of NWA 15468, A New Chondrite Group, 09/01/24-06/01/25 - Obtained a sample that was wrongly classified, and determined the sample did not fall within any known chondrite groups. Responsible for determining geochemistry and mineralogy of samples, creating thin section mosaics in plane, cross polarized, and reflective light modes, gathering SEM data, and analyzing elemental data in AZtec. Found analog samples by cross referencing sample data with pre-existing samples that did not fall within an established group
  • PSU Senior Capstone: Science Inquiry in the Outdoor Classroom, Portland, OR, Fall 2024 - Developed a virtual field environment (VFE) of the Columbia River Gorge for K-12 as a field trip substitute. Oversaw and produced data collection, media assets, field photography, and geologic descriptions. Presented our VFE product in a conference with our clients
