- Typically, the patients that I see in my current Level II ICU are ALL disease processes in all body systems, including cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, surgical, dialysis with CRRT, etc. This is a Level II trauma center, in which we see a lot of Level I patient's who are overflow from Regional One.
- This facility is a certified Stroke facility, so I care for A LOT of stroke patients, as well as Code Stroke protocols along with anoxic brain injuries.
- At times I do float to Neuro ICU and CVICU to take care those patients as well where we see more of your ICP monitoring, craniotomies, impellas, CABG, cardiac cath, etc.
- Generally, my job entails for me to utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize nursing interventions based on patients'' acuity levels and individual needs.
- Conducted thorough patient assessments to identify changes in condition, promptly notifying physicians and initiating appropriate interventions when necessary.
- Typically, we deal with any and ALL medications including weight-based vasopressors of any type, cardiac gtts such as amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, etc.
- Enhanced patient satisfaction by providing compassionate, holistic nursing care that addressed physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
