I serve as the key public health advisor responsible for the implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of activities and studies focused on adolescent HIV/TB/AIDS (over 200,000 beneficiaries spread across 34 Counties), a component of the care and treatment program funded under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Kenya.
Achievements:
Effectively managed the largest USAID-supported HIV Care and Treatment Implementing Partner in Kenya with a $ 64,000,000 (USD) project portfolio through monitoring expenditures, technical performance, and compliance.
Improved visibility of the USAID Kenya AYP program both at the Ministry of Health and at USAID Headquarters in Washington, USA.
Provided technical expertise in the development of several national documents on Mental Health including the mental health sections of the Community Health Promoter Modules, the Kenya National ART Guidelines, the HIV Prevention and Treatment Package for Adolescents and Young People and the Operation Triple Zero Curriculum.
Incorporated Mental Health sessions into the Monthly Learning Café, Treatment and Quarterly Performance Review Meetings at USAID KEA.
Led a successful Inter-Agency Mental Health Awareness Campaign as part of the 2024 May Mental Health Awareness Month.

Spearheaded incorporation of HIV Prevention and Treatment and the Adolescent and Young People support into the Community Health Promoters (CHPs) Occupational Standards and Technical Module Curriculum.
Through a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) approach and working in collaboration with the various implementing partners, improved Adolescent Viral Load uptake from 37% in FY22 Q2 to 90% in FY24 Q1 with a sustained Viral Load suppression of 90%.

Focal person for all AYP Program (78 facilities with 5,428 AYP) matters in the program as the lead interlocutor on matters HIV/AIDS and adolescents, being the key link between the donor and the project on one hand, and the County and the supported sites on the other hand.
Achievements:
Spear-headed implementation and scale-up of Operation Triple Zero (OTZ); an evidence-based intervention for adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) addressing viral suppression. This resulted in improvement in adolescent suppression in the program from 79% in 2019 to 91% as at SAPR 2021 with 95% overall OTZ enrollment.
Led implementation of a differentiated service delivery model for children and their caregivers-PAMA (Papa-Mama) Care.
In the spirit of the global call of ‘Nothing For Us, Without Us’, supported the AYP in the program to come up with their own platform for HIV Awareness Creation among their peers-The Mend Up. The project engages the leadership and governance of the AYP platform in decision making with regards to AYP priorities for programming.

Achievements:
Successfully led the introduction and implementation of Differentiated Model of Care in the 32 supported sites.
Successfully led the roll-out and scale-up of pre-exposure prophylaxis use in supported sites.
